Acting mindfully, knowing one's abilities and limitations, understanding how we influence each other, and behaving ethically will be my best self forward. Also accepting that I do not know everything is important. ​Through reflection that focuses on our own abilities, I will be able to help participants understand their own boundaries.

A full understanding of the process will ensure that all participants are on the same page when starting something new. By exercising good judgment when making decisions, the potential risks are decreased. The act of utilizing available resources is something that I will ensure to inquire about which will aid decision-making.​

I hold an emphasis on experiential learning, where learning is done outside of the classroom in order to enhance and bring to life the material from the classroom. ​Incorporating experiential learning and full reflections after will strengthen the participant's connection to the material.

An understanding of how everything on the planet is connected will encourage others to act with the planet in mind. I plan to further educate myself by gaining a Leave No Trace certification from my University. ​

Planning routes, and understanding what skills need to be taught or reviewed, are all important steps of preparation. By increasing my organizational and management skills, I can ensure to be the best leader and ensure that all of the participants have the skills needed to safely participate.

Safety and Risk Management

Participation in safety measures, preparation, and planning all ensure safety and risk management. Taking the steps before the event is the best way to be prepared for any problems that arise. As I research and ask participants questions, this will ensure that I am doing what I need to before the event to ensure safety. ​

Technical Experience

Through my personal research and education, I have gained experience in farming, composting, recycling, waste management, and environmental education.​
